Smallbrook’s Eco Fashion Show
Staff and students recently held the schools first eco friendly fashion show. The purpose of the event was to raise awareness of how the manufacturing of clothing and plastic pollution is impacting the worlds oceans and climate. The students were asked to create an outfit based on the theme ‘our natural world’ with a budget of £30. They were given the task of sourcing the clothes used from local charity shops in Shrewsbury. The clothes, once used were then donated back to our school charity shop Nu2u. The show was a massive success, with all students contributing to the show, either by modelling outfits, baking for the after show coffee and cake stand or working as stage crew or photographers.
Money raised from the event was split between two local charities, Hilbrae dog rescue and Sleapy cat rescue. The final amount raised was a grand total of £150.00. Thank you to both Zoe and Ashleigh for planning an amazing event.
