Here at Smallbrook, we are especially proud to celebrate the individual successes that our students both past and present have had because of their passions and commitment to their vocational lessons. Some of these successes include two students being offered a motor vehicle apprenticeship at two recognised garages in the Wrexham area, this being the result of their hard work when in school, working alongside a dedicated vocational staff team and completing a successful long term work experience placement with the employer.
Other success stories include a student who studied City and Guilds Level 1 in the hospitality at the school was able to go straight onto a level 2 in hospitality and professional cookery qualification at the City of Oxford College.
One of our students is currently completing an internship at the school, working with the outdoor education team. This has allowed the student to experience a professional learning experience that offers meaningful, practical work related to their desired field of study or career interest. Working alongside our professional outdoor education team has given this student the opportunity for career exploration and development, and for them to learn new skills.
Student successes in vocational have also helped those students who have chosen a more academic path, with one student who achieved excellent results in their vocational qualifications going on to study law at Kings college in London.
